City Boy Movement says it is widening its structures across states ahead of 2027
The City Boy Movement says it is building on its existing structures, expanding across the country and deepening its work in local communities ahead of the 2027 general elections. Its patron, Seyi Tinubu, made the comments in a statement issued on Friday 30 October, the Nigerian Tribune and The Nation reported on Sunday 1 November.
The statement was issued by the movement's Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Arabinrin Aderonke, and quotes Seyi Tinubu, the movement's patron. “The City Boy Movement is already on the ground, mobilising, organising and expanding its national reach ahead of the 2027 general elections. What we are witnessing is a deliberate effort to build on the structures already established, deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen our presence across the country,” he said, according to both papers.
According to the statement, the movement's activities have reached the South-East and Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba states, among other parts of the country, including grassroots communities. The reports did not give figures for new members or new state offices.
Seyi Tinubu said the movement's progress would depend not just on how visible it is, but on the strength of its organisation and the dedication of its members, the reports said.
In plain terms: the movement is telling the public that it plans to be more active in more states, especially at community level, as the election gets closer. The movement says its mobilisation is meant to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. These are the movement's own claims; the reports did not include independent figures on its size or reach.
