Varsity workers protest shortfalls in FG’s arrears payment

University workers across Nigeria reported varied experiences after the Federal Government released arrears under its 2026 agreement with unions. Some received full or partial payments of eight or nine months while others faced shortfalls, unpaid allowances for services already rendered, exclusions of eligible staff categories, and uncertainty over remaining entitlements such as withheld salaries, increments and promotion arrears.
