Aviation unions petition Presidency over Air Peace airside invasion
Aviation unions petitioned the presidency over an alleged invasion of the airside at Murtala Muhammed International Airport by Air Peace Airlines on 11 August 2026, claiming the airline drove five branded buses onto the taxiway and manoeuvring area after a lawful union picket, disrupting flights and endangering safety. The unions, who had been picketing airlines for failing to allow unionisation and remit Ticket Sales Charge, described the action as a national security threat and called for urgent investigation and prosecution.
