Abia PDP candidate pledges oil well revival, industrialisation

Dr Kelechi Anosike, the PDP governorship candidate for Abia State, pledged during a visit to Ukwa East to revive capped oil wells, explore new hydrocarbon deposits, harness silica in Azumini River for glass production, and industrialise the area as part of his 'Ukwa East: Resource-to-Wealth Initiative' blueprint. He promised to engage NNPCL within his first 100 days to review and reopen the wells, involve the Federal Government for further exploration and the Azumini Sea Port, rebuild sections of Obohia and Ohanku Roads, and resuscitate Abia Palm which once employed over 6,000 workers.

How this affects you: Ukwa East/Ndoki people in Abia State are affected by deprivation of benefits due to capped oil wells and underdevelopment despite potential, with promises of prosperity, employment via Abia Palm, roads, and port from Anosike's plans.
